Glenn Beck Hates Jesus

March 09, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, politics, religion, video

If you think that would make Left Agenda like the bastard Beck more, you’re sorely mistaken.  Though we do not believe in God/Dog, nor for that matter in an actual man called Jesus, in no way shape or form do we hate either.  I’ve often said that some parts of the New Testament could be equated to a Mother Goose book for adults; some parts.

That being said, as I understand it, some of the things Jesus preached about and his followers supposedly wrote about and now millions of people around the world now follow to the letter (Yes, that was said with tongue firmly in cheek) it seems that Glenn Beck is permanently distancing himself from those teachings (there’s audio), perhaps more in favor of the hateful and mean-spirited Dog/God of the Old Testament.

On his daily radio and television shows last week, Fox News personality Glenn Beck set out to convince his audience that “social justice,” the term many Christian churches use to describe their efforts to address poverty and human rights, is a “code word” for communism and Nazism. Beck urged Christians to discuss the term with their priests and to leave their churches if leaders would not reconsider their emphasis on social justice.

“I’m begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words ‘social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!”

Later, Beck held up cards, one with a hammer and sickle and other with a swastika. “Communists are on the left, and the Nazis are on the right. That’s what people say. But they both subscribe to one philosophy, and they flew one banner. . . . But on each banner, read the words, here in America: ‘social justice.’ They talked about economic justice, rights of the workers, redistribution of wealth, and surprisingly, democracy.”

So, any talk about “social justice” means that your church is out to get you and out to spread the eeeevils of communism.  Never mind that many people have suggested that Jesus was probably more of a communist than Christians would like to consider.

But what about the actual written words of the Bible?  We’ll give pause to the entire fact that the Bible has been so edited as to be unworthy of any historical consideration.

Matthew 5:3 ESV / 5 helpful votes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 ESV / 5 helpful votes

Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it.

Zechariah 7:9-10 ESV / 4 helpful votes

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

That’s just a few, you can find more from the Bible that shows how much of a liberal hippy Jesus really must have been.

The point is, it’s pretty clear what the danger really is to this nation.  It’s a large percentage of people being so delusional that they have left all critical thought behind and believe anything that a impassioned, baby-faced “Christian” tells them to believe.  Never mind what he teaches literally goes against their own beliefs, never mind that he lies and distorts the truth to no end, and never mind that while he pushes the meme of being the everyman he’s actually sitting in a millionaire’s golden throne.

While the Jesus that people usually refer to is peaceful, forgiving, and completely against the amassing of wealth while others suffer, American Christians have instead pimped out the religion and now it’s all about the money, money, money, moooooney!  Truly, Glenn Beck shows he’s one of the best spin doctors to grace our America since Joe McCarthy.

Now, if Jesus was such a commie bastard and Glenn Beckistan hates commies, then doesn’t the transitive property show that Glenn Beckabator hates Jesus?  For shizzle.

UPDATE: Mar. 14, 2010, 11:11 am

It seems that a lot of places are jumping on this same meme.  Glenn Beck hates Jesus is so prevalent that even Time magazine is jumping on board.  The article’s good, but the real excitement is in the comments.  You get some Beck sympathizers chanting the same rhetorical nonsense, ‘Social Justice means forcing me to pay for lazy people,’ and you even get the Right Wing Wackos’ new updated version of American history, but the best is all the religious people that completely disagree with what he’s saying.

It’s something we have to remember; Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Baggers all get plenty of press but they represent a tiny little part of America.  Not even 1/3 of Americans listen or buy into their bullshit.  Yet, for some reason that’s who the GOP is trying to court.  Could it be that there’s no one left to get behind the GOP?  Yeah, this Nov. isn’t going to change much of D.C.’s landscape, as much as conservatives would like to hope.

  1. Well, neither Ezekiel nor Zechariah hold up for a basis for the Christian teaching – strictly speaking, of course.

They are Old Testament, and not assigned to Jesus’ testaments – so, really, they aren’t Christian teachings at all.

And Jesus’ teachings were not against accumulation of wealth at all.
It was the manner that wealth is accumulated that matters.

But, whoops, not the point of your post.

Social justice as a moral position is great.

As a political position is dangerous.

Jesus saw that there will always be the poor – nothing anyone can do about it. It’s the human condition – the Universe operates in a manner that causes human suffering.

No action of man can cure ‘suffering’ no matter how much a person wishes to steal from one man to give to another. Transferring “God-given” suffering from one man unto another innocent man does not cure suffering – it expands it.

I think that is what Beck was trying to drive home.

    • Jesus was a Jew, right? The Jews operated as a theocracy; there was no separation between political and social law. Jesus was talking about both. The Gospel of Prosperity is as void of humanity as Libertarianism.

      2
      • Jesus mission was to replace the old Jewish law with a new, up-to-date, version which included gentiles as well.

He tossed out most of the old Testament.

Prosperity is void of humanity??? Smokes alive!

I guess living longer and healthier is a sin.

        • The only people that live longer and happier by your system of beliefs are those that have money. That’s really convenient for those that are born into money, better environments, etc.

I hadn’t realized that Christians, or followers of Christ, had tossed out the Old Testament. That’s refreshing, now maybe the entire Creationism disguise will be thrown out as well. Secondly, “old Jewish law” was made up of substantially more than just the Old Testament. I don’t remember where Jesus says that he wants to replace all of their laws, you’ll have to point that out to me.

What I do know is that Christian and Mormon officials are upset about Beck’s assertion that social justice isn’t Christ like. I’m wondering how they’ll react when they see the images of Hitler and Jesus side by side on Beck’s show?

Your political beliefs fit nicely with your religious ones; both are ignorant of what life is like when you’re not born into wealth.

We all have our crosses to bear.

However, forcing innocent men to bear crosses God has placed on others only insures evil.

  2. Spin Doctor – A person that makes the public believe that politicians really aren’t that bad – Check out this example http://bit.ly/bkfLRU

    7
    • Spin doctors are people that spin facts and figures to confuse people or change the conversation. They aren’t only for politicians. The banks use spin doctors to try and convince people that giving bonuses somehow improves the economy.

  3. ……The only people that live longer and happier by your system of beliefs are those that have money. That’s really convenient for those that are born into money, better environments, etc…….

The poor are richer than ever before in history – especially over the last 200 years.

    I point to this video:

Hans Rosling: Let my dataset change your mindset

I believe you are stuck in dogma of a mindset that simply does not match reality.

You are not alone – it is a condition of most people over all spectrum of politics and beliefs.

  4. ….I hadn’t realized that Christians, or followers of Christ, had tossed out the Old Testament. That’s refreshing, now maybe the entire Creationism disguise will be thrown out as well…..

I can’t speak for others – just for me. Religion of One, you can say.

It is what I read and understand.

…Secondly, “old Jewish law” was made up of substantially more than just the Old Testament. I don’t remember where Jesus says that he wants to replace all of their laws, you’ll have to point that out to me….

There are several verses in the Bible where Jesus had differences with the way the religious law of the people of Israel was being interpreted.

He felt that the real Law of God had been ignored and in its place were external ordinances which really had nothing to do with the ascent of the spirit. He felt that people were being made to adhere to what did not matter in the true ascent of the spirit, was immaterial to it.

This He pointed out so many times and this brought Him into conflict with the Jewish hierarchy.

(Shrug) Many people are muddled and stuck in contradictions and their dogma refuses to let them go.

…Your political beliefs fit nicely with your religious ones; both are ignorant of what life is like when you’re not born into wealth…..

We all have our crosses to bear.

  10. Hitler’s attitude regarding religious anti-semitism is outlined clearly in his book Mein Kampf:
    page 120:
“Through this shilly-shally way of dealing with the problem the anti-semitism of the Christian-Socialists turned out to be quite ineffective.

It was anti-Semitic only in outward appearance. And this was worse than if it had made no pretences at all to anti-Semitism; for the pretence gave rise to a false sense of security among people who believed that the enemy had been taken by the ears; but, as a matter of fact, the people themselves were being led by the nose.”

Religious anti-semitism was the worst kind of affront to the nazis as it offered the sensible public no rational basis for their hate and therefore turned off any logical person away from any movement to “Fix the problem”. Religious anti-semitism serves as a smokescreen for the jews, offering protection from noble defenders of this silly kind of discrimination, allowing jews to build up and promote their own interests without criticism from others, even if it comes at the expense of those very protectors, and with the practice of their own discrimination against and opression of those protectors. Religious anti-semitism would not work more in favor for the jews than if it had been invented and practiced by the jews themselves.

It is what convinces atheists and common-sense Christians to defend them from extermination and then allow them to climb the ranks of American society to the top echelons, only to promote and protect eachother while convincing the rest of us we’re just too stupid/lazy to climb that high. It convinces sensible people to pay billions to setting aside their Holy Land for only them, regardless of never having taken part in any atrocities towards them at any point in history, rather having been their rescuers instead.

It convinced all of Germany to throw their certain victory away and turn against their own government in World War 1. The war was thrown by means of propaganda that worked against it’s own people. The term “stabbed in the back” comes from this. You fight for and protect the very people who throw up your biggest hurdles and allow the enemy easy access to kill you.

    • Thanks for the comment. I think you illustrate an excellent point. What was being done then by Hitler is similar to what can be seen today in America through the Right Wingnut talking points and media affiliates.

  11. Glen Beck has less than a junior high school grasp of history and world affairs, a complete lack of honesty and integrity, and a total disregard for the intelligence of his audience. His presentation is full of unfounded conspiracy theories and when he is caught in a lie, which he often is, he just switches from being a “reporter” or “political commentator” to being an “entertainer.”
