Mother’s Day “Compassion and Hope”?

March 17, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, politics, religion

I know, it’s a long ways off. We’ve got, like, forever until we have to start worrying about Mother’s Day gifts and reservations, etc., etc. But, thanks to the folks over at the Elliot Institute, you’re covered! Oh, you don’t remember them, no worries. They’re the psycho lying bastards that perpetuate the evil myths of pro-choice legality. Yes, the same type of group that publishes pamphlets with dead babies (not fetuses) and tells made-up stories of how all these different women were forced (Forced they say!) to have abortions. Oh, the angst, the agony of fiction.  Forced abortion has occurred in America, sure, what hasn’t occurred in America?  But, it’s illegal to force a woman to get an abortion and many of the “forced” abortions they’re claiming are in other countries.  Equating that to the lies against Planned Parenthood clinics is disingenuous at best.  I would link to their site, but if you’re in the mood to lose your lunch then you can do the work yourself.

Here’s a chart from the CDC that shows rates and characteristics of women getting abortions.

You can see clearly that there is no targeting or bias based on color or ethnicity; there is a big difference between unmarried and married women, go figure… no, really go figure that out.  I’ll give you a second to think about that.  Secondly, if you notice above, the percentage of abortions taking place after 21 weeks is 1.5% or less.  That’s right, the vast majority are in the first trimester, when only a fetus has developed.  You can forget all those pictures groups like this show you saying that’s what abortion looks like.  It doesn’t.  And for those third trimester abortions, read a few of Dr. Tiller’s patients comments after his death.

So, back to Mother’s Day. That’s a good day, right? I mean, unless you don’t get a long with your mother and even then you could, hopefully, set that aside for one day. Then, of course, many people (like moi) tend to think of days like this as another Hallmark Holiday, created simply for more money/consumerism. Well, whatever way you go, hopefully you don’t take the helping hand the bitches at the Elliot Institute are giving you.

Mother’s Day Ads: A Message of Compassion and Hope That Also Educates the Public

adJulie and others who have lost a loved one to abortion or it’s aftermath–along with countless mothers who grieve many losses; above all, the loss of their child–are often forgotten.

At the same time, others are being coerced into unwanted abortions while authorities in many sectors of society fail to offer needed support, information and resources, or at least doing proper screening to make sure that women and girls aren’t having abortions as a result of sexual assault, abuse, coercion or even force.

This Mother’s Day, you can acknowledge and remember those who have lost a mother, child, sister, daughter or friend to abortion or its aftermath. You can extend a hand, a heart and healing message on Mother’s Day with our healing ads, each featuring a rose … broken, yet restored, to represent hope and the journey to healing.

By sharing our ads and other materials, you’ll also educate the public and deter those who would fail to support a mother facing a challenging pregnancy or use pressure or coercion to get her to abort … plus raise awareness among those who are “on the fence” about the abortion issue because they don’t know about the injustices it causes and the risks it poses to unborn children their mothers.

Education is key. By documenting and exposing the risks and abuses women and girls face before, during and after abortion, we can save lives, change hearts, show compassion for those already hurt and open the door to healing.

Yes, I get their e-mail updates so that I can use their own material against them.  You know, if they were solely concerned with advocating for the help and security of women that need it, then I’d support them.  But, instead, they attack women’s rights.  All this wasted effort could instead be going to helping homeless children, or helping single mothers, or twiddling their thumbs.

So, for Mother’s Day let’s send our mothers cards that remind them of the unfortunate, sometimes, but totally necessary medical procedure called abortion.  Then let’s frighten them with myths and legends of how the evil liberal armies are coming out and forcing women to have abortions!  Oh, you can just smell the flowers, can’t you?  Here’s a blow-up of the card (pun intended for these sick jihadist Christians).

I love the mention of “Julie”; this bullshit woman that they make up fairy tale lies about.  It’s always the same with the Christards and RWWs (Right Wing Wacko), they use bullshit stories about bullshit people making bullshit claims.  It’s like them parading Norma L. McCorvey, the infamous Jane Roe, who has since Roe v Wade become a Born Again dumb-ass and is completely against abortion.  Fine, her choice; but don’t forget that her “choice” to join the church’s minions was after a decade of abuse and emotional torture, hate mail, death threats, property damage, etc. was done to her by those same types of people.  Come on psychology majors, isn’t there a name for that kind of behavior where the torturee gets to lovin’ the torturer?

Yeah, Mother’s Day.  Doesn’t it suck for women that have had an abortion?  Maybe for some, maybe not for others, and maybe it’s a sigh of relief for a few more.  Abortion is a legal medical procedure, killing isn’t.  A fetus is not a baby! You’re either pro-choice, or anti-choice.  I know sciency stuff baffles a lot of people over there at the Elliot Institute (Earth is 6000 years old, dinosaurs walked with Adam and Eve, homosexuality is a choice, etc.) but I wish they’d just shut the hell up.  Just because you’re ignorant and intolerant, doesn’t mean your opinion isn’t valid; it means you haven’t learned Rule #1: Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt (Abe Lincoln).

Rat Bastard: Pawlenty Steals Money from Veterans for Faith-Based Initiatives

March 15, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, politics, religion

If you bought a “Support Our Troops” license plate in Minnesota then you might have been donating money to something besides veterans.

Here, at Left Agenda, we support our veterans and military personnel wholeheartedly and this kind of crap pisses us off!

$30,000 was taken diverted stolen from the “Support Our Troops” program and instead given to some low-life working in the governors office for faith-based initiatives.  Incredulous!  Disgusting!

If you’d like to share with Pawlenty how pissed off you are:

Judicial Watch: Dazed and Confused, ACORN Illiterate

March 11, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, politics, video

ACORN has been getting attacked by the conservative right since its conception.  Look, it helps the poor with legal advice, housing problems, tax forms, etc.  Conservatives seem to hate the idea of poor people, especially Black ones, getting any help from anybody.

Since O’Keefe’s false ‘journalistic’ videos were proven to be heavily edited and not worth shit in any type of conviction against ACORN, which the Right Wing media whom pushed the pimp and ho story is shockingly ignoring, the conservative right just can’t let it go.  Judicial Watch, a self-described “conservative, non-partisan educational foundation,’ seems particularly miffed about ACORN’s innocence.  Perhaps it’s their own blaring stupidity that is to blame; how else could you confidently claim that you were ‘conservative’ and ‘non-partisan’?  That’s like the Cato Institute claiming that they’re non-partisan.

Here’s some of those heavily edited O’Keefe pimp and ho vids:

Now, let’s get back to Judicial Watch.  This, snicker, snicker, LMFAO… “non-partisan” group thinks that the DOJ is ignoring evidence that ACORN is corrupt, corrupt they say!  And Obama, Obama’s the corrupt Muslim Kenya guy that has complete control over the DOJ, ya see?  And, now, Obama’s controlling the DOJ to ignore ACORN’s illegal activities and not investigate them.  Damn all the things the DOJ has the evidence to convict, like Dickhead Cheney illegally torturing people, nooooooes… go after ACORN;  you can hear Judicial Watch whispering, ‘We see poor people.”  It’s true that some employees of ACORN committed crimes and were convicted of those crimes, but how does that implement ACORN?  There are military personnel that commit crimes too, does that mean the military is a criminal organization?

It’s hideous, hideous that ACORN helps millions of Americans.  Don’t you see how America’s richest 5% are being victimized by all of those poor people.  And ACORN helps Black people; you know that rich White Americans are the minority!  Damn it, don’t you love America like Glenn Beck does?

And that’s sincere; those tears are real!

So, Judicial Watch wants to call out the DOJ and falsely claim that there’s some sort of bias involved in not investigating ACORN?  Or is it that Judicial Watch thinks that the DOJ is biased against rich people?  Maybe, they think Obama’s stacked the deck in the DOJ just like their hero, George Bush.  Whatever it is, hopefully the DOJ, the Congress, and the WH won’t be so quick to judge a non-profit organization that’s helped millions of poor and underprivileged people simply because a few conservatives cry foul.

Glenn Beck Hates Jesus

March 09, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, politics, religion, video

If you think that would make Left Agenda like the bastard Beck more, you’re sorely mistaken.  Though we do not believe in God/Dog, nor for that matter in an actual man called Jesus, in no way shape or form do we hate either.  I’ve often said that some parts of the New Testament could be equated to a Mother Goose book for adults; some parts.

That being said, as I understand it, some of the things Jesus preached about and his followers supposedly wrote about and now millions of people around the world now follow to the letter (Yes, that was said with tongue firmly in cheek) it seems that Glenn Beck is permanently distancing himself from those teachings (there’s audio), perhaps more in favor of the hateful and mean-spirited Dog/God of the Old Testament.

On his daily radio and television shows last week, Fox News personality Glenn Beck set out to convince his audience that “social justice,” the term many Christian churches use to describe their efforts to address poverty and human rights, is a “code word” for communism and Nazism. Beck urged Christians to discuss the term with their priests and to leave their churches if leaders would not reconsider their emphasis on social justice.

“I’m begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words ’social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!”

Later, Beck held up cards, one with a hammer and sickle and other with a swastika. “Communists are on the left, and the Nazis are on the right. That’s what people say. But they both subscribe to one philosophy, and they flew one banner. . . . But on each banner, read the words, here in America: ’social justice.’ They talked about economic justice, rights of the workers, redistribution of wealth, and surprisingly, democracy.”

So, any talk about “social justice” means that your church is out to get you and out to spread the eeeevils of communism.  Never mind that many people have suggested that Jesus was probably more of a communist than Christians would like to consider.

But what about the actual written words of the Bible?  We’ll give pause to the entire fact that the Bible has been so edited as to be unworthy of any historical consideration.

Matthew 5:3 ESV / 5 helpful votes

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 ESV / 5 helpful votes

Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it.

Zechariah 7:9-10 ESV / 4 helpful votes

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another, do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

That’s just a few, you can find more from the Bible that shows how much of a liberal hippy Jesus really must have been.

The point is, it’s pretty clear what the danger really is to this nation.  It’s a large percentage of people being so delusional that they have left all critical thought behind and believe anything that a impassioned, baby-faced “Christian” tells them to believe.  Never mind what he teaches literally goes against their own beliefs, never mind that he lies and distorts the truth to no end, and never mind that while he pushes the meme of being the everyman he’s actually sitting in a millionaire’s golden throne.

While the Jesus that people usually refer to is peaceful, forgiving, and completely against the amassing of wealth while others suffer, American Christians have instead pimped out the religion and now it’s all about the money, money, money, moooooney!  Truly, Glenn Beck shows he’s one of the best spin doctors to grace our America since Joe McCarthy.

Now, if Jesus was such a commie bastard and Glenn Beckistan hates commies, then doesn’t the transitive property show that Glenn Beckabator hates Jesus?  For shizzle.

UPDATE: Mar. 14, 2010, 11:11 am

It seems that a lot of places are jumping on this same meme.  Glenn Beck hates Jesus is so prevalent that even Time magazine is jumping on board.  The article’s good, but the real excitement is in the comments.  You get some Beck sympathizers chanting the same rhetorical nonsense, ‘Social Justice means forcing me to pay for lazy people,’ and you even get the Right Wing Wackos’ new updated version of American history, but the best is all the religious people that completely disagree with what he’s saying.

It’s something we have to remember; Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Baggers all get plenty of press but they represent a tiny little part of America.  Not even 1/3 of Americans listen or buy into their bullshit.  Yet, for some reason that’s who the GOP is trying to court.  Could it be that there’s no one left to get behind the GOP?  Yeah, this Nov. isn’t going to change much of D.C.’s landscape, as much as conservatives would like to hope.

DADT and Unit Cohesion

March 05, 2010 By: Godless American Category: Home, LGTB, politics, religion

Repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is finally being discussed and the movement is growing stronger.  Passed during Clinton’s 1st term, in 1993, it was generally accepted as a compromise.  Prior to DADT, military personally were subject to general or undesirable discharges from the military simply for being gay, and a dishonorable discharge if they were caught having sexual or ‘indecent’ relations of a homosexual nature.

The world has changed.  What was once regarded as a compromise by the majority of Americans, and I’m guessing that doesn’t include homosexuals, has become a stain on civil liberties.  People with open minds and hearts vice dogmatic and homophobic RWW (Right Wing Wackos) have learned and acknowledged that continuing the policies in DADT constitutes an injustice.

Those policies clearly state the reasons for this perceived threat of openly gay military personnel:

“demonstrate(s) a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts” because ”it would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability.”

So, gay people being themselves and having relationships and loving other people is a “risk to… morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion.”  This may have been true at some point in America’s history; I’m sure prejudice against homosexuals could have caused some upset among some of the people that were acceptably bigoted.  But what about now?

Public sentiment has completely changed:

The public supports it, and so do America’s serve members.

So, if public sentiment and armed forces’ sentiment has changed then there is no “risk to… morale.”  Great that’s one thing down!

Thankfully, along with the acceptance of the LGBT community also comes the wisdom that homosexuals aren’t some perverted group of people anymore than the rest of humanity.  I’m sure there are many heterosexual and homosexual predators, neither of which is a predator because of their sexual orientation.  That being said, then there’s no worry of “risk to…, good order and discipline,” because the service member being gay doesn’t have shit to do with either.  Fabulous, that’s two down!

The last one, “unit cohesion,” seems to be the one that homophobic, a.k.a. concerned citizens, are desperately grasping to in order to show that we can’t repeal DADT.  Merrill A. McPeak, former Chief of Staff for the United States Air Force, wrote an op-ed piece published in the NY Times yesterday titled, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Don’t Change”.  Let’s just consider it another case of futureshock; some elderly Americans are having a difficult time keeping up with changing sentiment and attitudes (Even lying to fight change).  McPeak seems to think it’s a terrible idea to allow gays to serve openly because:

Armies have to care about what succeeds in war. Sometimes they win or lose because of material factors, because one side has the greater numbers or better equipment. But armies are sure to lose if they pay no attention to the ideas that succeed in battle. Unit cohesion is one such idea. We know, or ought to, that warriors are inspired by male bonding, by comradeship, by the knowledge that they survive only through relying on each other. To undermine cohesion is to endanger everyone.

I do not see how permitting open homosexuality in these communities enhances their prospects of success in battle. Indeed, I believe repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” will weaken the warrior culture at a time when we have a fight on our hands.

Did you catch the switcheroo there?  The policy clearly states that openly gay people in the military are a “risk to…, unit cohesion,” and now McPeak is trying to argue that he doesn’t see how it will improve unit cohesion. The argument is no longer that homosexuals serving openly will be any such risk, but how does it make things better?  McPeak is being disingenuous at best and a fucking asshole homophobic lying bastard at worst.  Which one do you pick, cause neither make for a winning argument?
